Elephant Toothpaste Reaction Rate Laboratory

The purpose of this lesson and laboratory exercise is for students to gain an understanding of chemical reactions and how they work. The students will have the opportunity to see a reaction between hydrogen peroxide and oxygen through physical displays as a result of the decomposition reaction. Students will gather data and make connections between reaction rates related to changes in concentration and the presence or absence of a catalyst.
