VR Chain Reaction Machines ~ Day 1
VR in the classroom, oh my! This Day 1 lesson provides students an introductory understanding of chain reactions, Rube Goldberg and his machines, the Oculus (Meta) Quest 2, the online game Dynamic Systems (from https://engineering.com), and the VR app Gadgeteer.
On Day 1, students will explore what a chain reaction is, who Rube Goldberg is, and see an example of the Rube Goldberg Machine created by the winners of the Rube Goldberg Institute of Innovation and Creativities Annual Competition. Students then receive training on the Oculus Quest 2 and the Gadgeteer App, which is followed up by training and exploration of the Dynamic Systems game where they can apply Algebraic and Engineering concepts to their virtual builds. The Day 1 lesson is a review of everything they will need to implement a full day of VR Exploration on Day 2. This is the 1st lesson in a series of 2.

This is a multiple-day lesson plan based on Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. Students begin the lesson by collecting data observing coins moving across a table. After making the observations, students will
In this lesson the students will apply the knowledge of thermal energy to design, build and test a container that keeps cold beverages cold.
The goal of these lessons is to introduce work and power and then apply it by having students find the power produced by a future NFL player. The students will then be challenged to see what type of
