Observing Caterpillars

Students will observe caterpillars and make a model of what a caterpillar looks like.
Materials needed: Live caterpillars, pictures of caterpillars, marshmallows, toothpicks, pipe cleaners, rubber bands, and book. Using the book, (From Caterpillar to a Butterfly) the class will discuss and talk about how a caterpillar survives in it's natural environment.
This lesson will take about 60 minutes and should be taught when caterpillars are available.
