Fold and Fly
Engineers often create small-size models of a new product to test its design. This is especially true with airplanes. Model testing tells engineers how a design responds to different air conditions and aircraft shapes, and lets them experiment with the control surfaces that are used to steer the aircraft. Using small models guides engineers to discard prototypes that do not work, which is a smarter option than than throwing away full-size (large and expensive to build) aircraft that do not work.
Students will work in groups, follow the engineering design process to create the fastest paper airplane!

VR in the classroom, oh my! This Day 1 lesson provides students an introductory understanding of chain reactions, Rube Goldberg and his machines, the Oculus (Meta) Quest 2, the online game Dynamic
This is the 2nd lesson is a 2-part series. Students will expand their knowledge of Newton's laws while building, launching and changing the design of paper rockets. This design and modeling exercise
This is a multiple-day lesson plan based on Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. Students begin the lesson by collecting data observing coins moving across a table. After making the observations, students will
