Balloons Over Broadway with Edison Robots and the DoInk Green Screen App
by Bridget Hagest
This lesson combines ELA (reading and discussing the story), engineering (design a balloon with materials given and attach the balloon to an EdBot), and technology (code an EdBot to run the parade route, and use a green screen to record the balloons). This will result in a "live" classroom parade with the balloons on the Edison Robots, as well as a recorded classroom parade with the balloons recorded in front of a New York City parade route. The lesson plan is written with students K-2 in mind, but can easily be adapted to meet multiple grade levels. Differentiation ideas are given.
