Which Ramp Angle Produces the Fastest Speed?
by Georgina Matzkin
In this lesson students will discover the best angle that will produce the fastest speed for a hot wheel vehicle when traveling 1 meter. Students will also practice calculating speed (speed=distance/time), measuring the height of the books as well as the angle of the ramp to discover which angle produces the fastest speed.
Students will also write a hypothesis statement using “if”, “then” and “because”, determine the independent and dependent variable, as well as creating a scatter plot graph and conclude which angle produces the fastest speed.
