Understanding Shadows
As a follow up to the lesson The Stories Shadows Tell, students engage with an informational text to understand the relationship between the position of the sun (East vs West) the time of the day, and the length of their shadow. Students engage in an experiment to replicate the results from their prior observations, and then use technology to show and explain where the shadow of a tree will be based on the position of the sun.
