Magnetic Marble Run: Newton’s Laws of Motion - Day 1
This lesson can be used to reinforce physical science standards, engineering design concepts, and collaboration. Students will work with a National Geographic Magnetic Marble Run to construct a basic marble run and have a general review of gravity and Newton's Laws of Motion.
The activities will allow students to reinforce concepts that they have already studied in science and engineering, and/or obtain a general understanding of concepts that they will learn in future courses. The lesson provides an opportunity for creative expression, provides advanced problem-solving skill development, and advances collaboration/communication within a team. This lesson is the first of 2 lessons, with lesson 2 providing students an opportunity to work on an advanced marble run build.
