Circuitry Unit: Lesson 3 Building Model Homes

2 votes with an average rating of 1.

This lesson is the final project in a unit that focuses on circuitry. The task is for students to plan, design, and test a 3D house using electrical circuits that function correctly. To add more excitement, a fictional character, who is an electrical engineer, will present a scenario to the students. The engineer would like to hire the students' creative team to help plan, build, and test the electrical circuits in a new residence being constructed nearby.

In this lesson, students will learn about the importance of electricity in our daily lives, and they will be able to identify and explain the function of various electronic components. With their knowledge of simple electrical circuits, they will construct a 3D model house using snap circuits to demonstrate how energy is moved through electric currents.

The necessary materials for this project are the Elenco Snap Circuits My Home Plus Electronics Building Kit, a computer or tablet with internet access, a projector or interactive whiteboard, the MyHomePlus-Manual Part 1 and Part 2, and snap circuit planning paper and a pencil.
