Chemical Reactions - Skittles Modeling Project
This is a hands-on activity where students can visualize, using Skittles as atoms, the concept of balancing chemical reactions. Many students get thrown off by the fact that products often look, smell and/or taste different than the reactants. This project serves to provide visual proof that despite outward appearances, all of the atoms from the reactants are present in the products. This lesson plan is designed to take a span of 2-3 days, and is generally best done in groups.

This set of lessons allows students to model the decay chains of radioactive isotopes and relate the mathematical patterns and scientific concepts together in a innovative and interactive way.
The lesson is primarily about building a Lego or any block tower with a good foundation. This can be done in a group of 5 - 7 students. In my case I am considering 7th and 8th grade class to perform
