The opportunity for students to compare and contrast their ideas in public conversations is crucial to the learning process in science. . We will discuss strategies to help students collectively identify where they are going and what their next move might be. We will explore how to support students in understanding what kinds of talk they can contribute, so that all students are engaging in productive conversations.
