PLANETS STEM Curriculum Development

Planetary Learning that Advances the Nexus of Engineering, Technology, and Science (PLANETS) is a NASA-funded collaboration between Museum of Science, Boston, the Center for STEM Teaching & Learning at Northern Arizona University, U.S. Geological Survey Astrogeology Science Center, and WestEd Making Sense of Science.

Our team is seeking experienced and dedicated educators interested in cotributing to the growing field of OST STEM education professional learning!

PLANETS is excited to work with out of school time educators to co-design educator support materials for the PLANETS curriculum in this series of workshops! The first part will be a 1.5 hour virtual session (choose between 6/11 or 6/13), and as listed in this event an in-person working session will follow on June 20 at Northern Arizona University from 9:30 AM-3:00 PM!

A 400$ stipend is available for full participation in this program, and to receive it you must-

  • Review curriculum and supplementary materials before June 20th
  • Attend a 1.5 hour online meeting (choose either 6/11 @ 10AM or 6/13 @ 12PM MST)
  • Attend the full in-person session on June 20th
  • Complete any post-session tasks

As a STEM Education partner in this program, you will-

  • Grow as an OST educator through engagement with other diverse educators and new curriculum 
  • Explore and develop materials for a planetary science and engineering curriculum for grades 3-8
  • Work with us to co-create relevant and useable educator support materials for this curriculum
  • Provide valuable feedback before, during, and after the working session
