The Math of Food at the Movies

PD Hours 1.00

If you love going to the movies, then you probably have some favorite concession snacks, but are you ever surprised that the snacks cost more than the movie ticket? Popcorn proportions, soda equations, fractional candy boxes, and budgeting for that movie experience are just a few ways you can have students practice math skills while thinking about a trip to the movies. Join us for this workshop that will uncover the mathematical magic behind the snacks that accompany our favorite films.

Participants will be eligible for 1 hour of professional development credit.

Due to the interactive nature of the presentation, all participants will be required to have reliable internet access and a device with video and audio capabilities.

*ASU STEM Acceleration Project Approved.
